Hi Guys,

I installed the obsidian V4 launcher and was able to connect to my saber and modify the sensitivity settings with no bug, simply I cannot seem to change any of the fonts.  I found the free fonts on the forum and would like to try to install the starkiller and sabertooth fonts.  I just accept a couple of questions:

1. If I want to install these fonts, exercise I have to sacrifice an existing font by overwriting it?
2. Right now I have the files downloaded to my figurer's difficult bulldoze and saved as zipfiles on the desktop (windows).  When I am in the launcher, I keep trying to load the fonts from the difficult drive, but I cannot even seem to discover them to open up.
3. Is there somewhere else where there are other sound fonts? I guess that I just don't know where to look. I was nether the impression that I would be able to detect lots of different fonts.

Thanks, David

In fourth dimension you lot will call me master

Hi Guys,

ane. If I want to install these fonts, do I have to sacrifice an existing font past overwriting information technology?
2. Right now I take the files downloaded to my computer's difficult drive and saved every bit zipfiles on the desktop (windows).  When I am in the launcher, I keep trying to load the fonts from the hard drive, merely I cannot even seem to find them to open.
3. Is there somewhere else where there are other sound fonts? I gauge that I just don't know where to expect. I was nether the impression that I would be able to find lots of different fonts.

Thank you, David

1. Yes you accept to overwrite an existing font. You also have to make sure the new font you want to put on will fit in that soundbanks allotted retentivity. 8 Soundbanks come standard on the V4, 7 actual soundfonts and i extremely small silent font which has basically nothing in it. If you want to put larger more detailed soundfonts on the V4 then yous will accept to reduce the number of soundbanks. This volition yield more than actual memory per soundbank.

2. I keep mine in my downloads file. If you go on them on your desktop and you're a soundfont junkie similar I am, very speedily your desktop will be covered in soundfont folders lol As for why you cant observe them, have you extracted the files? That would be the but reason I could call back of that the launcher program cant see them.

iii. There are tons of places to get new soundfonts. At that place are forum fellow member created fonts here:
http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=11414.0

Ultrasabers themselves have a bunch of them for free hither:(scroll downward for the download links)
https://world wide web.ultrasabers.com/Sound-Font-p/soundfont-manual.htm

You tin also get them from hither:
http://saberfont.com/saberFonts.shtml
These ones are non free and most of them were fabricated for other soundboards, withal soundfonts are soundfonts and they're all done the same style basically so I would remember they would work with the Obsidian as well.

Ok guys,

I think that this is what is happening.  I am using windows 7 domicile premium. I have downloaded the free zipped files offered on the forum: sabertooth, starkiller etc. They are stored on my desktop. When I attempt to "load" the sound files from my desktop to the obsidian launcher, I cannot load the files. I tin can unzip several of the files and see "LSU" files...Power on, power off, motion etc., still, when I click on the files, my computer says that I cannot open them. I get this message for "RAR" files and for "LSU" files. Can anyone recommend a programme to open these files that is uniform with my version of windows: 7 home premium?

Cheers in advance, David

Ok guys,

I recollect that this is what is happening.  I am using windows 7 dwelling premium. I have downloaded the free zipped files offered on the forum: sabertooth, starkiller etc. They are stored on my desktop. When I attempt to "load" the audio files from my desktop to the obsidian launcher, I cannot load the files. I tin can unzip several of the files and run into "LSU" files...Power on, ability off, motion etc., however, when I click on the files, my figurer says that I cannot open up them. I get this message for "RAR" files and for "LSU" files. Can anyone recommend a program to open these files that is compatible with my version of windows: 7 home premium?

To open up the files, assuming yous're using the Obsidian Launcher V4, you must open the Sounds Sorcerer menu in the Obsidian Soundboard tab.

1 - Select the bank you want to replace, and and so load the .lsu files into the different menus the tabs on the left bring upwardly.

two - This would be the perfect fourth dimension to test each audio and brand sure it'southward what you lot want. I personally dislike the clashes that sound just similar blaster deflections, but that'south but me. (And before anyone calls me out, I know that they usually are based off of Ep 4 and v, but without the context of those movies information technology doesn't actually work for me)

three - Once you're washed, click on the Write Sounds tab, and if you click the discussion Relieve on the lesser, you tin save your soundfont as a .lsfgx file, which is what the Load button on the first tab is looking for.

4 - And then, simply click Write Sounds.

You can also become them from here:
http://saberfont.com/saberFonts.shtml
These ones are not free and most of them were fabricated for other soundboards, nevertheless soundfonts are soundfonts and they're all washed the aforementioned mode basically and then I would think they would work with the Obsidian as well.

A slight nitpick: Obsidian and Plecter boards do work similarly, and I'd imagine a footling tweaking is all you'd normally need to interchange soundfonts (note: I haven't done this myself).  NEC boards work slightly differently; the board itself mixes the idle-hum sounds with swing and clash sounds.  On Obsidian, the hum is mixed with the swing/disharmonism as part of the soundfont, and so if you employ an NEC soundfont on Obsidian you'll probably hear the hum drop out during swings and clashes (which probably wouldn't sound very proficient).

Yea. Another thing Ive noticed is obsidian soundfonts seem to be a bit more tidy(for lack of a better word). Generally if I isolate a swing or a clash on an obsidian font its usually mostly swing or clash with very little hum lead in or lead out. But some of the fonts ive gotten from saberfont have as much as 1 or 2 seconds of hum leadout that is actually role of the swing font. Piece of cake enough to trim downwards in Audacity, but still a pain in the neck.

Thank you lot.

Hi Guys,

I'm having a like trouble to David. I am running the Obsidian V4 Launcher on Windows x, previously the launcher would recognise my Archon V3 (with V4 obsidian soundboard) but at present the launcher volition very rarely recognise my lightsaber, (I accept tried all the quick fixes such as disconnect/reconnect, un-install/re-install and using different USB ports) nevertheless in that location is a bigger problem...

When I am trying to load dissimilar soundfonts (soundfonts that I have downloaded onto my hardrive and  extracted) onto an existing banking concern in the sound sorcerer menu, I cannot see the lsu files when the launcher allows me to select from a folder to choose the soundfont I want to install onto my soundboard. If I go through my file explorer normally (so outside the launcher) I can run into the lsu files but cannot play them.

Has everyone else encountered this problem and/or found a fix? Once more I am running the V4 launcher on Windows 10 and when I endeavor and load saberfonts onto my Archon V3, I cannot see the lsu files in the file explorer within the Launcher...

Any help volition exist much appreciated,

Josh

Josh, other people accept been having the same problem, and a few workarounds have been posted, simply right now there'southward no solid prepare.  For instance, look in this thread:

or this one

You're non lonely in having problems with Windows 10; unfortunately, I suspect it's going to accept until after the blitz dies down before US has time to work on the compatibility trouble (especially since driver issues tend to exist tricky to diagnose).
